About this deal

Berry is famous for her sweet tooth and her extensive baking knowledge which she shares with you in this beautifully packaged edition will not disappoint. Perfect for: Fans of the original will find plenty of inspiration in this new and improved book, and newcomers will have everything they need to embark on their baking journey.

This particular cake appears under several different names in virtually every book that Mary publishes.Mary's easy-to-follow instructions and handy tips make it ideal for kitchen novices and more experienced cooks alike, and full-colour photographs and beautiful illustrations will guide you smoothly to baking success. Mary’s traybake section is superb and a great idea if you have a number of hungry teens to feed, want to take cakes into work or bake for a fete. I received a free copy of, Mary Berry's Baking Bible: Revised and Updated, by Mary Berry, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Taste glorious newcomers like her show-stopping Rainbow Cake and Quick Sourdough Loaf, plus timeless favorites, from Orange and Chocolate Shortbread to French Apple Tart. The first thing I noticed when I first got the book last Christmas was the range of recipes that is included; including traditional cakes, biscuits and cookies and cheesecakes.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. A combination of two Mary classics, shortbread and fork biscuits, these buttery biscuits are flavoured with chocolate and orange. For example, you might have to make the conversion to 'not self rising' flour and then make the usual high-altitude adjustments to that. I've had this particular book for a few years and use it constantly so I've bought one for her and I know she will get as much pleasure out of it as I do. More than one recipe I found intriguing but I really wanted to see it to know if it truly was of interest. Some of the recipes that I most want to make are Crunchy Top Lemon Cake, Special Shortbread Cookies, Millionaire Shortbread (probably one of my all-time favorite desserts), and Bakewell Slices. This is a reference book to be explored depending on the occasion, with elaborate celebration baking and children’s baking included too, it will take me a while to get the whole way through it but I will definitely be baking more of Mary Berry’s recipes.
