About this deal

This book had some ground to make up to begin with because after checking its copyright date, all I could think was, "It's a book. Nathaniel learns quickly that he may have gotten into a plot much more in-depth than he and his djinni can cope with.

I neka vas ne brine ako se čini da je za mlađe naraštaje pošto i mi straiji možemo mirno da uživamo u ovome. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Flitting between the perspective of the djinni and the magician, we see the story progress and see various moments from two very different points of view.At times I wondered if the pages were meant to be larger- closer to the size of a standard comic book page- because there were a lot of little panels shoved onto some of the pages. Powerful magicians rule Britain, and its empire, and Nathaniel is told his is the "ultimate sacrifice" for a "noble destiny. Everything changes when he is publicly humiliated by the ruthless magician Simon Lovelace and betrayed by his cowardly master who does not defend him.

This is a FANTASTIC book, one that suggests that Harry Potter books don't have to be just a phenomenon, but could be a genre as well, as long as there are people out there who have the capacity, as Jonathan Stroud does, to create new worlds. The kindest character in Bartimaeus is Mrs Underwood, the wife of the magician to whom Nathaniel is apprenticed.Previously, Bartimaeus had awoken in the Tower to be unsuccessfully interrogated by Sholto Pinn and Jessica Whitwell, the Minister of Security. He summons Bartimaeus, a 5000-year-old djinni, to assist in revenge against the proud ambitious Simon Lovelace by stealing his precious amulet. The more I read graphic adaptations of books and other media, the more I realize that they're a lot like film adaptations. Through the machinations of Nathaniel and Bartimaeus, Lovelace lost the amulet again, and was subsequently eaten by Ramuthra. This sets in motion a chain reaction of events that are perilous and fantastical and ultimately build up to a big climax.
